Mets Lose Opening Series at CitiField
Posted by Señor Met in San Diego Padres on April 17th, 2009
San Diego Padres 6-5 win gave them 2 out of 3 wins during the opening series at the new CitiField. The Mets got to Jake Peavy but not as much as the Padres got to John Maine.
I don’t want to go into details about the Mets relatively slow start. We have lost 2 out of the first 3 series and that is just not acceptable.
First Win at CitiField

A solid game for the Mets, who today did all the little things that bode well for a successful season.
Good baserunning. Good defense Good relief pitching. Good starting pitching. Good sacrifices. Good Delgado.
NY gets First Ever Win at CitiField 7-2 over the San Diego.
Citi Field Opens with a Purrrrrrr

The long awaited opening of the New York City Metropolitans new home, CitiField, didn’t open with a Roar as we had all hoped.
It opened with a purrrr.
As for the other entertainment on opening day, the upstart San Diego Padres beat the Mets 6-5.
Those same Padres that lost 99 games last year. Those same Padres that were put on the schedule to open at CitiField so the Mets could get an easy win. Those same Padres that I hope trade Jake Peavy to the Mets one day soon.
Let’s Go Make CitiField’s Inauguration Special! Lets Go Win the Opening Series! Let’s Go Mets!!!
