Beltran to the DL

Charlie Brown said many times, “Good Grief”.

A great many Mets fans are feeling like Charlie Brown this season. With Beltran going to the DL for probably awhile, the Mets lineup resembles even less like it did on opening day.

We can’t even get somebody healthy before someone else gets hurt. Nope. Just more injuries on more injuries.

At least we beat Pujols and Cardinals last night.

Mets Score 8. Lose by 4.

After getting swept out of Saint Louis by Albert Pujols, who connected off of sub-par pitching all week, the Mets are lucky to be heading to a must needed series against the National League punching bag – Washington Nationals.

We are a pathetic 6-9. We had better show up big time against Washington because we are already 5 games behind the Marlins and the season just started three weeks ago.

In more inspiring news:
Even if the Mets don’t score a whole lotta runs for Johan Santana, at least he still shakes their hands.

At Least the Pirates Swept the Marlins

because the Mets sure aren’t showing any pulse against the Cardinals.

We lost the momentum in the come from behind debacle to open this series with the Cardinals and so it is no surprise the they beat us again 5-2. Today’s loss had very little fireworks except for letting Pujols drive in a couple of runs and their starting pitcher Joel Pineiro shutting us down for pretty much the whole game.

We need to salvage a win in this series.

And our bats better be ready to help out Livan b/c Kyle Lohse is no slouch.

Mets Blow

4 Run Lead.

It is not OK. We need to be consistent. We need to put teams away when we get the chance. When I used to blast Guns N’ Roses Mamacita Met used to scream, “Shut the door For Crying Out LOUD!!!

Mamacita Met always knew best.

Saint Louis has all the momentum now in the series. We need this series, we really can’t count on the Pirates to keep beating the Marlins all the time.

Down 4-0, Cardinals tied the game and then won it in the 9th with 2 more runs. Murphy screwed up in the outfield. Beltran forgot to slide at home.

Mets have 3 blown leads of 3 runs or more. De Ja Vu. Mets tied for the Major League lead last year in blown 3 run leads with 14.

A nice comeback like that on the National League’s highest paid team sure gave the home crowd something to cheer about. Lots of happy faces in St. Louis.
