Señor Met was on Vacation
Posted by Señor Met in New York Mets on June 27th, 2009
Today we are a 1/2 game back. Not because we have been playing well, though we did win a few games before getting schlacked by our crosstown rivals last night. We are really a 1/2 game back because the Phillies have just been getting beat down by everyone lately.
Hope that trend continues.
Also hoping Tim Redding can Fuck the Yankees today with a solid performance.
David Wright Hits Clutch Double in Extra Innings to Beat the NL East Perpetual Doormat
Posted by Señor Met in Washington Nationals on June 5th, 2009
NL East Perpetual Doormat are as bad as they get. Yet it took extra innings to beat them, seeing we only scored 1 run in the first 9 innings.
At least the FACE of the FRANCHISE got an opportunity to earn his worth and get some positive attention for a change.
More importantly, Tim Redding actually pitched well, of course do not think for one second that the NL East Perpetual Doormats are any real indicator of Redding’s value to the Mets. Redding is at best a fill in guy who can eat up innings effectively against the likes of the bottom tier teams.
Fernando Martinez Makes an Impact; Tim Redding gets Impacted
Posted by Señor Met in Florida Marlins on May 30th, 2009
The pride of our minor league system, Fernando Martinez, got his first career hit and RBI. However, it was way short of enough to beat the Florida Marlins.
That is because Tim Redding was getting lit up like he did in his last start, sort of like firecrackers on the 4th of July.
I guess Jerry Manuel figured Josh Johnson was going to be tough to beat at home with Tim Redding on the mound for the Mets, so he sat out most of our non-injured stars. And the one premier bat in the lineup, the early season MVP candidate Carlos Beltran’s, left mid-game because of a stomach virus.
Let’s put this ugly loss behind us and get started on another little winning streak ASAP.
